I am creating a little theatre lover! During The Music Man at Starlight last night, Sadie kept turning to me and saying things like, this is so good, I like this dancing, did you see her dress spin??
She got all fancy- dressed herself and was so happy that her skirt was a twirling skirt just like the dancers on stage!
He actually is hugging her here, although it looks like she is picking him up!
The team ended up with a 10-0 record. Thanks in part to the fact that they win every time! Every batter gets to bat every inning, you get to swing until you hit, and they don't count outs!! Don't the Royals wish they had these rules!
Sadie at the game- I am so HOT!! It was 95 degrees with 1000% percent humidity!
We were at opening day of "Summit Waves" the new waterpark in town (formerly...the town pool...) We loved the lazy river and the kid's play area, but the super fast water slides were the girls' favorite! Super Fearless water girls did this superfast, thrilling, pitch black water slide three times including "the last time on the first day" when the attendant let them go one last time as the last riders! The loved it, can't you tell!
Look closely to see Oliver- he is hard to catch in a picture!
Celebrating the Dwyer Family- we headed to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for a
whirlwind family gathering. We started on Wednesday night from KC, stopped for a brief visit with Aunt Suzi in Des Moines. We arrived in the UP at 7 AM thanks to kamakazee driving and sleeping schedules on the parent's part. While everyone else slept, Traf did a little stop in Green Bay for a little sightseeing! I forget that Michigan is rich with beaches. We made our way across the peninsula stopping to view beautiful marinas, beaches and parks. We enjoyed endless rock skipping, kite flying and wading in ice cold water until we couldn't stand it! We stopped at our inn, Chamberlin's Old Forest Inn, Curtis MI for round one of the reunion. We jumped in the lake, played with the kayaks, tried to fish and continued our rock skipping lessons! We met up with Gail and Jesse for whitefish on the banks of Little Manistique Lake. Then we adjourned to a bonfire at Big Manistique Lake on the lawn of our Inn. This Round 2 of the reunion added the Thomsons and the St. Louis Dwyers. We should also thank the Labatt's family for their contributions...
Day 2! Started with a lovely Chamberlin's breakfast and big time reunion. The "Crazy Ladies" and their families joined us. We got to meet Lauren the newest family member! We played on the dock with everyone and even enjoyed the lovely gazebo!
Totally out of order- I think I overloaded blogger. More to come as Michigan II!
