First a big family birthday at the cabin with cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles, parents, dogs, family apletny! (Then two visits from the tooth fairy, just as a side note...) Six kindergarten friends RUNNING through the house on Saturday (plus three more neighborhood friends!), a pizza party, another Dairy Queen cake, yummy, and a new bike!! Lucky kid!

All the world's a stage...

I'll be your private dancer (with my brother as lead choreographer...)

Requesting music from the pit... Listening to the director...

Like this Sadie!

Like this?
Giving it her all!
If you are really lucky, you will get to go to Red Robin for dinner, it will be Kid's Night, complete
with an amazing balloon artist. You will change your balloon choice at the last minute from pink and orange poodle to pink and orange butterfly...then if luck holds, your mom will let you change into your leotard, your brother will break out the yamaha mini keyboard and...if you've been really good a makeshift stage will appear in the form of a retired crib mattress. VOILA- the world is your stage, let the show begin (and continue...and continue...)

Squeaky clean!

What does it say about our social life -or our infinite capacity for fun in obscure places- that we spent 3 hours Saturday at the self serve dog wash...

Soccer time!

Pictured here with best friend Emma ready to learn the names of her new soccer friends!

Charming Little Movie

Ever wandered around Blockbuster and picked a movie that you thought would be a gem of a movie only to find out that it was unheard of for a reason? that there was only one copy for a reason? that the reviewer who said it was a must see was some nobody from Toledo? Maybe this is only my experience as a movie renter, but I DO NOT have a good track record for picking. Quotes from failed movie nights, "I didn't know it had subtitles!" "It had a great cast!" Speaking from experience, great cast + never heard of it= BAD!!

So, last night when Family Yoga was unexpectedly cancelled and we were there and ready...we salvaged our fun family night by using our recently won Blockbuster gift cards (that were burning a hole in the kids memory that we were going to get to pick out a movie!) A movie for each kid selected and then it was up to me to pick a great movie that would please both adults movie taste with little helpers in a crowded store. Translation- pick it quick, we are on borrowed time. (Where was birthday boy, you ask? Didn't want to be seen at BLOCKBUSTER in his yoga clothes..."you're so vain. I bet you think this blog is about you..." I guess sitting in your MINIVAN in the parking lot (in your shorts) protects your man card...)

I digress. Rent, Once. It's good. Really good. Unexpected. This is a little movie with no name people that is beautiful and real. So good and real that I used my iTunes gift card to be listening to the soundtrack right now.

Enjoy.

Spoiled Rotten Birthday Boy!

The kids wanted me to get them up early, "What's 2 hours before 6, mom?" They had major plans for decorating, cooking, cards, etc. They made this cake on the sly and drew the picture themselves. Do you see the dolphin jumping out of the water next to the sailboat? Do you see the kite he is flying from his sailboat? (Can you see the concussion?)

The plans included blueberry pancakes and coffee in bed. Notice in the picture the only person who doesn't look esctatic? What is up with that!? Not pictured, the mom, who was running around behind the scenes doing things like getting mister poopypants refills on his coffee (in his "29 again" mug!)
